Create the User Criteria

The user criteria control the accessibility of categories and catalog items in the Service Catalog. The ServiceNow users and end-users require user criteria to access projects/catalog items. The ServiceNow system administrator can create user criteria in the VMware Aria Automation plug-in scope.
  • You must create entitlement using the user criteria. To create the user criteria records in the Service Catalog, see Create User Criteria Record.
  • To assign the user criteria to catalog items and projects in the Service Catalog, see Apply User Criteria to Items and Categories.
  • The restrictions for user criteria to view individual projects/catalog items are directly applied by adding items in
    Available For
    or
    Not Available For
    related lists in the User Criteria form.
  • The system administrator must provide access to projects/ catalog items for a specific user by following the below steps:
  1. Create
    User Criteria
    in the Service Catalog.
  2. Add
    Groups
    and
    Users
    in User Criteria.
  3. Add the user criteria in
    Available For
    if a specific user requires to access a specific project/catalog item.
  4. Add the user criteria in
    Not Available For
    if the specific user does not want to access a specific project/catalog item.
    The user cannot access the catalog item when the user is on both
    Available For
    and
    Not Available For
    lists because the
    Not Available For
    settings will override
    Available For
    settings.
