Performing a disaster recovery for
VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle
VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle
You can perform disaster recovery by running a recovery plan in
VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle
with re-IP by using
Site Recovery Manager.- Create a recovery plan forVMware Aria Suite LifecycleVM and configure the recovery steps by turning off re-IP manually, and then disabling power on post recovery.
- Edit the hardware setting of the recoveredVMware Aria Suite LifecycleVM in thevCenter Serverinventory, and then assign correct network.
- Power ON theVMware Aria Suite LifecycleVM.
- Access theVMware Aria Suite LifecycleVM console fromvCenter Serverinventory as arootuser.
- Execute the following commands from the VM console.
- /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_set_network <Network-Interface-Name> STATICV4+NONEV6 <New-IPV4> <SUBNETMASK> <DEFAULT-GATEWAY>
- /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_set_dns <New-DNS-IP-OR-FQDN>
- /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_set_hostname <New-Hostname>
- Reboot.
- Access theVMware Aria Suite LifecycleUI with the new IPv4 or the new FQDN, and then log in. UnderLocker, selectHome Certificates, and then generate a new certificate, which includes the updatedVMware Aria Suite LifecycleFQDN.
- On theLifecycle OperationsHome page, selectSettings, and then selectChange Certificateto update theVMware Aria Suite Lifecyclecertificate that is generated in the previous step.
- On theLifecycle OperationsHome page, selectSettings, and then selectAuthentication Providerto performSYNCandRE-REGISTERtasks. This upgrades the new FQDN ofVMware Aria Suite Lifecyclein theVMware Workspace ONE Accesscatalog.Perform this step only if theWorkspace ONE Accessis reachable to the network of the recoveredVMware Aria Suite LifecycleVM.
- Perform an inventory sync with the managed products to ensureVMware Aria Suite Lifecycleis functional with the new network settings.
