Cluster Models

supports multiple cluster models that provide different levels of availability to workloads running on different vSphere clusters within your
Private Cloud.

Cluster Models

A cluster model is defined and implemented at a per vSphere cluster level and describes the maximum level of availability that can be provided to virtual machines on that cluster. Each cluster in your Workload Domain(s) or VCF Instance(s) may use any of the defined models, or you may elect to apply the same model to all clusters in a given domain or VCF instance based on organizational policies.
Several cluster models are possible in
based on the number of availability zones available in your
Private Cloud.

Cluster Model
属性
標準クラスタ
  • Non-Stretched
  • Single storage fault domain (including vSAN Storage Clusters)
  • Protected using vSphere High Availability
  • Allows for recovery after host failure events
Advanced Cluster
  • Non-Stretched
  • Multiple vSAN fault domains
  • Protected using vSphere High Availability
  • Allows for recovery after host or rack failure events
ストレッチ クラスタ
  • Dual vSAN fault domains (including vSAN Storage Clusters)
  • Protected using vSphere High Availability
  • Allows for recovery after host and availability zone failure events
  • Can be achieved with:
    • Stretched vSAN
    • Stretched storage (non-vSAN)
Disaster Recovery protection between VCF Instances can be layered on top of any of the above cluster models using the Live Recovery VVS
