Upgrading the
VMware Aria Operations Management Pack for Horizon

You can upgrade this management pack to a newer version by selecting the appropriate options and customizations.
Use the VMware Product Interoperability Matrix to verify if your current VMware Horizon version is compatible with
VMware Aria Operations Management Pack for Horizon
version that you want to upgrade to.
  1. Log in to the
    VMware Aria Operations
    user interface with administrator privileges.
  2. In the left pane of
    VMware Aria Operations
    , click
    Data Sources
    Integration
    Repository
    .
  3. On the
    Repository
    tab, click
    Add
    .
    Or,
    1. On the
      Repository
      tab, select
      VMware Horizon
      .
    2. Click the ellipse (3 dots) icon and select
      Upgrade
      .
  4. Browse to locate the temporary folder and select the PAK file.
  5. Select the
    Install the PAK file even if it is already installed
    checkbox.
    This selection reloads the PAK file but retains the custom preferences of the user. Also, this selection does not overwrite or update the solution alerts, symptoms, recommendations, and policies.
  6. (Optional) Select the
    Reset Default Content, overwriting to a newer version provided by this update
    checkbox.
    This selection reloads the PAK file and overwrites the existing solution alerts, symptoms, recommendations, and policies with newer versions provided with the current PAK file.
  7. Click
    Upload
    .
    The upload might take several minutes.
  8. Read and accept the EULA and click
    Next
    .
  9. When the upgrade is complete, click
    Finish
    .
    After the upgrade completes, verify the
    VMware Horizon
    version number, the available metrics, and the content details.
  10. On the
    Data Sources
    Integration
    page, select the configured VMware Horizon adapter and click
    Validate Connection
    to validate the connection.
  11. Accept the certificate and save the adapter settings.

Restart the VMware Horizon Adapter Instance

After you upgrade the VMware Horizon adapter, ensure to restart the VMware Horizon adapter instance.
  1. On the
    Data Sources
    Integration
    page, select the configured VMware Horizon adapter and click
    Stop Collecting
    .
    It takes few seconds to stop the VMware Horizon adapter data collection.
  2. Select the VMware Horizon adapter again and click
    Start Collecting
    .
The VMware Horizon adapter instance is restarted.
You can also restart the VMware Horizon adapter from the
Environment
page.
  1. Navigate to
    Environment
    ->
    Inventory Select Adapter Instance
    ->
    Horizon Adapater
    .
  2. Click the configured Horizon adapter Stop Collecting and Start Collecting. This does restart the adapter and adapter goes to OK status.
