Product Support Packs and Patches are cumulative, incorporating all updates from previous product support packs as well as patches into the latest version.

What's New

The following updates are available in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18 Patch 1:
  • Resolves an issue in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle where the deployment of VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.18 HF1 fails unexpectedly due to an incorrect status being returned from Operations for Logs.
  • Fixes an issue related to content capture in VMware Aria Orchestrator.

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18 Patch 1 Installation Procedure

Following the VMware by Broadcom Day 2 transition on May 6, 2024, Customer Connect has been migrated to the Broadcom Support. This migration impacts the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle as follows:
  • All Product Support Packs, along with product and patch binaries, will now need to be downloaded from the Broadcom Support Portal
  • Users must then manually map these into the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle
  • Additionally, all online download methods previously available in the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle will be disabled in the user interface upon upgrading to our next release.
Downloading Patch
  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Virtual Appliance (VA).
  2. Download the product support pack file from the
    Broadcom Support Portal
    .
    1. Login to the Broadcom Support Portal.
    2. Select "VMware Cloud Foundation" as the product line.
    3. Click on "My Downloads" and choose "VMware Aria Universal" or "VMware Aria Suite"
    4. Navigate to Solutions, expand the options, and click on Subscription.
    5. A list of Product Support Packs and Patches will be displayed. Filter to find the appropriate one and click on it to open the download page for that specific VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Patch.
    6. The syntax to search for a Patch is always in the format
      vrslcm-8.16.0-PatchX.patch
      , where
      X
      is the Patch number.
Mapping Patch
  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle VA.
  2. Upload the patch downloaded into /data folder of VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle VA using WINSCP or any file transfer tool
  3. Log in to the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle VA.
  4. From the
    Lifecycle Operations
    dashboard, navigate to
    Settings > Binary Mapping
     and click
    Patch Binaries.
  5. Enter the path of the patch upload in
    Source Location,
    click on
    Discover
  6. Select the Patch discovered and then ADD. Once the source mapping is complete, proceed with installation of the patch
Installing Patch
  1. Once you have mapped the patch, navigate to
    Settings > System Patches
    .
  2. Click
    NEW PATCH
    , select the patch, and click
    NEXT
    .
  3. To install the patch, click
    INSTALL
    . Once the patch install is triggered successfully, VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle services are restarted and you are redirected to the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle UI login page.

    To verify your new patch, from the
    Lifecycle Operations
    dashboard, navigate to
    Settings >System Patches
    , and check
    Patch Details
