Move Hosts Between Clusters

You can move hosts between clusters to optimize the computing and storage capacity of your SDDC.
  • The SDDC must be activated.
  • The cluster from which you want to move hosts should have sufficient capacity to support the workloads.
  • The cluster from which you want to move hosts must have at least four hosts.
  1. Log in to the VMware Cloud Services Console at https://console.cloud.vmware.com/csp/gateway/discovery.
  2. Launch the
    VMware Cloud on Dell
    service.
  3. Click the SDDC name or expand your SDDC and click
    View Details
    .
    The
    Order VMware Cloud on Dell EMC SDDC
     form appears. The
    Summary
     tab displays a card for each cluster that is already added to the SDDC.
  4. On the card for the cluster from where you want to move the hosts, click
    Move Host
    .
    The
    Move hosts from <cluster name>
     screen appears.
  5. Select the number of hosts you want to move.
  6. Select a cluster to which you want to move the hosts.
  7. Click
    Confirm and Move Hosts
    .
On the
Summary
 tab, source cluster displays a reduced capacity and target cluster displays additional hosts.
