Configure Event Subscriptions in VMware Aria Automation

Configuring subscriptions in VMware Aria Automation establishes a communication channel from VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator to ServiceNow so that event data received from VMware Aria Automation through VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator will be sent to ServiceNow.
You must have access to
VMware Aria Automation
and
VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator
.
  1. Log in to the
    VMware Aria Automation Assembler
    .
  2. Select the
    Extensibility
    tab.
  3. On the left pane, click
    Subscriptions
    .
  4. Click
    NEW SUBSCRIPTION
    to create a new subscription.
  5. Provide the values to the following fields on the
    NEW SUBSCRIPTION
    page:
    Fields
    Inputs
    Name
    Provide
    Deployment Complete
    .
    Status
    Enable statistics if desired (Optional).
    Event Topic
    Choose
    Deployment Complete
    .
    Workflow
    Add the
    Event Based Data Sync for ServiceNow
    workflow that was configured earlier. See Configure Event-based data sync in VMware Aria Automation.
    Project Scope
    Enable the
    Any Project
    toggle button.
  6. Click
    Save
    .
  7. Repeat the above steps to create subscriptions for the following events:
    1. Deployment Action Complete.
    2. Deployment Resource Complete
    3. Deployment Resource Action Complete
    4. Provider Resource Action CUD
      • After successfully configuring events using the VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator interface and creating subscriptions in VMware Aria Automation, the Event Based Data Sync for ServiceNow workflow will handle the events based on the specified subscriptions, allowing the ServiceNow users to receive the updates from VMware Aria Automation.
      • The plug-in is compatible with event-based data synchronization out of the box hence no configuration steps are required.
