.- Verify that before pairing thetenant-public-IP-addressof the tenant data center where theOn-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Applianceis deployed is added as a trusted IP address. As a service provider, for information about adding the tenants IP addresses, see step 8 in Prepare the SDDC in VMware Cloud on AWS for deployment.
- Verify that before pairingVMware Cloud Director AvailabilityinVMware Cloud on AWSis configured. As a service provider, for more information, see Configure VMware Cloud Director Availability in VMware Cloud on AWS.
- Log in to the management interface of theOn-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Appliance.
- In a Web browser, go tohttps://.On-Prem-Appliance-IP-Address/ui/admin
- SelectAppliance loginand enter therootuser password, set during the initial OVA deployment.
- ClickLogin.
As the appliance is not yet configured, it redirects you to thehttps://page.On-Prem-Appliance-IP-Address/ui/portal/initial-config - In theVCDA Appliance Passwordwindow, change the initialrootuser password set during the OVA deployment.
- Enter the initialrootuser password as configured during the OVA deployment.
- Enter and confirm a new password.The password that you enter must be a secured password with a minimum of eight characters and it must consist of:
- At least one lowercase letter.
- At least one uppercase letter.
- At least one number.
- At least one special character, such as: & # % .
- After entering and confirming the new password, clickApply.TheGetting Startedpage opens.
- Click theRun the initial setup wizardlink.
- To pair theOn-Premises to Cloud Director Replication AppliancewithVMware Cloud Director AvailabilityinVMware Cloud on AWS, complete theInitial Setupwizard.
- On theLookup Service Detailspage, enter the localvCenter Server Lookup serviceand its user credentials, and clickNext.Lookup Service AddressEnter the IP address of the localvCenter Server Lookup servicein the on-premises data center and to autocomplete the address ashttps://, press Tab.Lookup-Service-IP-Address:443/lookupservice/sdkSSO Admin UsernameEnter a local user with administrative privileges in the on-premises single sign-on domain, for exampleAdministrator@VSPHERE.LOCAL.PasswordEnter the password for the administrative user.Verify the thumbprints and accept the SSL certificates of the on-premisesvCenter Server Lookup service.
- On theSite Detailspage, enter a name for this on-premises site and clickNext.Site NameEnter a site name for thisOn-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Appliance.The site name is used as an identifier of this on-premises appliance instance and cannot be changed later.DescriptionOptionally, enter a description for this site.
- On theCloud Detailspage, pair the on-premisesVMware Cloud Director Availabilityappliance and theVMware Cloud Director AvailabilityinVMware Cloud on AWS.Service Endpoint addressEnter the public IP address of thePublic Service Endpointof theVMware Cloud Director AvailabilityinVMware Cloud on AWSas supplied by the service provider.Organization AdminEnter theorganization administratoruser of theCloud Director instance, for exampleadmin@org.Organization PasswordEnter the password for theorganization administratoruser.Allow Access from CloudSelectAllow Access from Cloud. - On theReady to completepage, selectConfigure local placement nowand clickFinish.TheOn-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Applianceis paired withVMware Cloud Director AvailabilityinVMware Cloud on AWS.
- To configure theOn-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Applianceplacement of virtual machines, complete theConfigure Placementwizard.
- On theVM Folderpage, browse the location for the recovered virtual machines and clickNext.
- On theCompute Resourcepage, browse the destination compute resource for the recovered virtual machines and clickNext.
- On theDefault Networkpage, browse the network to connect the network interfaces of the virtual machines to after failover and clickNext.
- On theDatastorepage, browse where to store the replicated virtual machines and disk files and clickNext.
- On theReady To Completepage, verify the selected configuration and clickFinish.
