Installing and configuring
VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions

Before you start using
VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions
, you must meet certain prerequisites. Use this checklist to prepare for the installation.
  • Verify that you are using
    VMware Cloud Director
    version 10.5.1 or 10.6.1.
  • Verify that you have configured your solution add-on landing zone in
    VMware Cloud Director

  • If you plan to use
    VMware Data Services Manager
    SQL solutions, verify that:
    • You have manually installed
      VMware Data Services Manager
      to
      vCenter
      and exposed its inbound access from the Solution Add-On Landing Zone of
      VMware Cloud Director
      .
    • You have installed a
      VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension
      -provisoned
      Tanzu Kubernetes Grid
      multi-cloud cluster to the Solutions organization of
      VMware Cloud Director
      , and exposed its outbound access to
      VMware Data Services Manager
      .
  • If you plan to install
    VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions
    by using the CLI, verify that you have a client machine, which has a network connectivity to a
    VMware Cloud Director
    REST endpoint. The supported operating system on the machine is Lunux.
  • For
    Tanzu Postgres
    ,
    Tanzu MySQL
    , and
    Tanzu RabbitMQ
    , verify that you have downloaded the token containing your user name and password in the Broadcom Support Portal for each solution.
  • If you want to use a private registry, verify that:
    • You have prepared a private
      Harbor
      registry and an available repository URL, for example
      harbor.
      mydomain
      .com/dse
      .
    • You have created a project for
      VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension
      within the private
      Harbor
      registry.
    • You have prepared a user or a robot user with minimal permissions
      Pull Repository
      and
      Push Repository
      .
  • For
    VMware Data Solutions
    , for example,
    Tanzu RabbitMQ
    , verify that after completing the registration at the
    VMware Tanzu Network
    portal, you sign the EULA for Packages for
    VMware Tanzu
    Data Services, similar to the process in
    Accept Tanzu Application Platform EULAs and installing Tanzu CLI

    VMware Tanzu Application Platform Product Documentation
    .
