Managing container registries in
VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions

Container registries are collections of repositories, which manage the
Docker
 images in your cloud. When you add your container registries to the
VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions
, they are registered to
VMware Cloud Director
.

Add a container registry

After the initial onboarding of
VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions
, download the token containing your user name and password in the Broadcom Support Portal for each solution.
If you plan to add a local container registry from which
Kubernetes
 clusters can pull content, you can skip configuring the default
VMware Harbor Registry
 and add your own container registry.
  1. Log in to
    VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions
     from
    VMware Cloud Director
    .
  2. Click
    Container Registries
    .
  3. In the
    Hosts
     panel, click
    Add
    .
  4. Enter the necessary details and click
    Save
    .
The registry is successfully registered, and you can see its relevant repositories in the
Repositories
 panel.
Update the repositories. See Update a repository.

Update a repository

After you create a container registry, you must update the repository locations for mandatory packages. The locations must be available to the tenant
Kubernetes
 clusters.
  1. Log in to
    VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions
     from
    VMware Cloud Director
    .
  2. Click
    Container Registries
    .
  3. In the
    Repositories
     panel, navigate to the repository that you want to update and click the vertical ellipsis button.
  4. Click
    Update
    .
  5. Enter the necessary details.
    1. Enter the necessary repository details.
    2. For
      ChartRepository
       repository type, enter the chart name.
    3. Enter the default package version.
    4. To use the default values for all fields, select the
      Use Default Value
       check box.
    5. Click
      Save
      .

Remove a container registry

After you remove a host, update the package repositories, which are referring to that host.
  1. Log in to
    VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions
     from
    VMware Cloud Director
    .
  2. Click
    Container Registries
    .
  3. In the
    Hosts
     panel, select the registry host that you want to remove.
  4. Click
    Delete
    .
