Recovery Manager
Virtual Appliance Management
Interface.Deploying the
Site
Recovery Manager Server
binds the instance to a number of values that you supply,
including the vCenter Server
instance
to extend, DSN and credentials, the certificate, and so on. You can change some of
the values from the Site
Recovery Manager
Virtual Appliance Management Interface.- Log in to theSite Recovery Manager ApplianceManagement Interface as admin.
- ClickSummary, and clickReconfigure.
- On thePlatform Services Controllerpage, enter the information about the site where you deployed theSite Recovery Manager Appliance.Menu ItemDescriptionPSC host nameEnter the host name (in lowercase letters) or IP address of thevCenter Serverwith which to registerSite Recovery Manager.PSC portAccept the default value of443, or enter a new value ifvCenter Serveruses a different port.vCenter Serveronly supports connections over HTTPS.User nameEnter thevCenter Single Sign-Onuser name for thevCenter Single Sign-Ondomain to which thisvCenter Serverinstance belongs. This user account must be a member of thevCenter Single Sign-Onadministrator group on thevCenter Serverinstance.PasswordThe password for the specifiedvCenter Single Sign-Onuser name.
- If prompted, clickConnectto verify thevCenter Servercertificate.
- On thevCenter Serverpage, clickNext.After the initial configuration of theSite Recovery Manager Appliance, you cannot select a differentvCenter Serverinstance.
- On theName and Extensionpage, enter the site name, administrator email address, and local host IP address or name, to register theSite Recovery ManagerwithvCenter Server.Menu ItemDescriptionSite nameA name for thisSite Recovery Managersite, which appears in theSite Recovery Managerinterface. ThevCenter Serveraddress is used by default. Use a different name for eachSite Recovery Managerinstance in the pair.Administrator emailThe email address of theSite Recovery Manageradministrator. This information is required even though you use the standardvCenter Serveralarms to configure email notifications forSite Recovery Managerevents.Local hostThe name or IP address of the local host. Only change the value if the IP address is not the one that you want to use. For example, the local host might have more than one network interface, and the one that theSite Recovery Manager Appliancedetects is not the interface that you want to use.To facilitate IP address changes in your infrastructure, provide a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) whenever possible, rather than an IP address.
- On theReady to Completepage, review your settings and clickFinish.
- To configure theSite Recovery Manager Applianceon the other site, repeat the procedure.
When the modification operation is finished
and the
Site
Recovery Manager Server
restarts, log in to the vSphere
Client
to check the connection between the sites. If the
connection is broken, or if you changed the vCenter Server
address, reconfigure the site pairing. For instructions
