Configure Network Information for Imaging
with the VMware Imaging Appliance
You must provide
the
VMware Imaging
Appliance service
with certain network information specific to your
environment before you can image your servers. This information is contained in
the
via.properties
file
on the
VMware Cloud Builder appliance
.
- SSH into theVMware Cloud Builder applianceusing the credentials specified when you deployed the VM. See "Deploy Cloud Foundation Builder Appliance" in theVMware Cloud Foundation Deployment Guide.
- Typesuto switch to the root user.
- Navigate to the/opt/vmware/evorack-imaging/config/directory.
- Update thevia.propertiesfile with your network information.
- If theVMware Cloud Builder applianceis using theeth0interface (default), then you do not need to modify any of the properties in Section A. If theVMware Cloud Builder appliancehas multiple network interfaces and is not usingeth0, you must update the following properties.PropertyDescriptionvia.network.interfaceInterface of theVMware Cloud Builder applianceconfigured in management network.via.web.urlThe IP address used to access theVMware Imaging Appliance serviceUI. Update this with the IP address ofVMware Cloud Builder appliancein the management network.via.network.ifaceaddrUpdate this with the IP address ofVMware Cloud Builder appliancein the management network.via.dhcp.esxi.tftpServerIP address of the server where TFTP is running. Update this with the IP address ofVMware Cloud Builder appliancein the management network.via.config.remote.pxe=falseDo not modify.

- Typesystemctl restart imaging.serviceto restart the imaging service.Wait for the imaging service to restart.
- Typesystemctl status imaging.serviceto verify that the imaging service is running.
Log in to the
VMware Imaging
Appliance service
and upload software.
