Activate Normal Lockdown Mode on the ESXi Hosts
You activate normal lockdown mode on the ESXi hosts.
- In a Web browser, log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Client.SettingValueURLhttps://vcenter-server-fqdn/uiUser nameadministrator@vsphere.local

- In theHosts and clustersinventory, select an ESXi host.
- ClickConfigure.
- UnderSystem, selectSecurity profile.
- In theLockdown modepanel, clickEdit.
- In theLockdown modedialog box, select theNormalradio button and clickOK.When performing skip-level upgrade from VMware Cloud Foundation version 4.5 to version 5.0, NSX upgrade pre-check fails if the lockdown mode is enabled on the ESXi hosts. You must disable lockdown mode before upgrading NSX and enable it again after NSX upgrade completes successfully.
- Repeat the procedure for all ESXi hosts in all workload domains.
