Configure the VMkernel Adapters on the vSAN Witness Host
To enable vSAN data network communication between the availability zones, configure the
witness network on the vSAN witness host.
- In the inventory panel of the vCenter Server Client, select.
- Select the vSAN witness host and click theConfiguretab.
- Remove the dedicated witness traffic VMkernel adapter on the vSAN Witness host.
- In theNetworkingsection, clickVMkernel adapters.
- Select the kernel adaptervmk1withsecondaryPgasNetwork labeland clickRemove.
- On theRemove VMkernel adapterdialog box, clickRemove
- Remove the virtual machine network port group on the vSAN witness host.
- In the left pane, select.
- Expand theStandard switch: secondary switchsection.
- Click the vertical ellipsis and from the drop-down menu, selectRemove.
- On theRemove standard switchdialog box, clickYes.
- Expand theStandard switch: vSwitch0section.
- In theVM Networkpane, click the vertical ellipsis and from the drop-down menu, selectRemove.
- On theRemove port groupdialog box, clickYes.
- Enable witness traffic on the VMkernel adapter for the management network of the vSAN witness host.
- On theVMkernel adapterspage, select thevmk0adapter and clickEdit.
- In thevmk0 - edit settingsdialog box, clickPort properties, select thevSANcheck box, and clickOK.
