Updating Hosts
When you add
custom drivers or patches to a host, the process is called an update.
- Update 4.0 and 4.1 hosts with thevihostupdatecommand, as discussed in thevSphere Command-Line Interface Installation and Reference Guideincluded in the vSphere 4.1 documentation set.
- Update 5.0 hosts withesxcli software vibcommands discussed in thevSphere Upgradedocumentation included in the vSphere 5.0 documentation set. You cannot run thevihostupdatecommand against 5.0 or later.
- Update 5.0 hosts withesxcli software vibcommands discussed in thevSphere Upgradedocumentation included in the vSphere 5.0 documentation set. You cannot run thevihostupdatecommand against 5.0 or later.
- Update 5.1 hosts withesxcli software vibcommands discussed in thevSphere Upgradedocumentation included in the vSphere 5.1 documentation set.
