Commands with an esxcfg
Prefix
To facilitate easy
migration if shell scripts that use
esxcfg-
commands, the vCLI package includes a copy of each
vicfg-
command that uses an
esxcfg
prefix.
You
should use ESXCLI or the vCLI commands with the
vicfg
prefix. Commands with the
esxcfg
prefix are available mainly for compatibility reasons and are now obsolete.
vCLI
esxcfg-
commands are
equivalent to
vicfg-
commands, but not completely equivalent to the deprecated
esxcfg-
service console
commands.
