Converging a
with an External
to a
with an Embedded

Convergence is the process of reconfiguring or converting a
with an external
to a
with an embedded
.
Figure 1 illustrates the process of converging a single standalone
with an external
to a
with an embedded
.

Stage
Description
Stage 0
Stage 0 represents the original
A with external
A node.
Stage 1
In Stage 1, the converge process performs the following tasks:
  1. Deploys the new embedded
    B on the
A and sets it up so that all the data in the original
A is replicated in the new embedded
    B.
  2. Configures the new embedded
B so that it works on the
    A node.
  3. Repoints
    A to the new embedded
    B.
Stage 2
Stage 2 shows the new node which contains
A with embedded
B.
The original
A can be decommissioned.
