Security Enhancements
Strengthen security measures by seamlessly integrating GemFire Management Console with Kerberos and SAML authentication protocols, enhancing overall system protection.
Export and Import Region Data
Streamline data management tasks with the ability to effortlessly import and export region data, facilitating efficient data migration and synchronization within your GemFire environment.
Frequently Run Queries
Improve workflow efficiency by saving and reusing frequently executed queries, reducing the time and effort spent on recreating complex queries in Tanzu GemFire Management Console.
Query Cancellation
Enjoy enhanced control over data exploration with the new ability to cancel queries directly from the Data Explorer view, exclusively for the clusters running GemFire 10.1+.
GemFire Usage Report
Efficiently track resource utilization through the newly introduced core count report, providing valuable information on connected GemFire clusters and their reported core quantities.
Known Issues in v1.2.0
In GemFire 10.1.0, it was discovered that the “Values In Memory” statistic reported an incorrect value in the “Values In Memory vs Values Only On Disk” graph. Instead of displaying the value for a particular region, it shows the total number of values in memory across all regions. This is planned to be fixed in a future patch release of VMware GemFire.
VMware Tanzu GemFire Management Console v1.1.1
Release Date: November 8, 2023
VMware Tanzu GemFire Management Console v1.1.1 is a maintenance release that addresses the following issues:
-
The management console loads Prometheus targets when the Prometheus server is configured with multiple jobs.
-
If a user lacks the necessary GemFire resource permissions, the management console presents an error message indicating the missing permissions.
-
The cluster connect screen now allows connections only to GemFire clusters. If an attempt is made to connect to another application using the cluster connect screen, the connection request is denied.
-
When monitoring a cluster, if “Live Refresh” is chosen, the “<<” and “>>” date selection buttons are deactivated.
-
When an attempt is made to configure OAUTH for a second time, the console responds with an error message indicating that the security configuration already exists.
VMware Tanzu GemFire Management Console v1.1.0

VMware Tanzu GemFire Management Console v1.1.0 contains a number of new features and improvements, including the following:
- Cluster Monitoring
- Data Explorer
- Download Logs and Statistics
- Pass-through Authentication
- Import and Export Cluster Connections
- Duplicate Cluster Connections
- Fixes Known Issue: Cannot Update Cluster Credentials or Update SSL/TLS Information Known Issue in version 1.0 with regards to not choosing to save the cluster security and SSL/TLS information.
Cluster Monitoring
This release allows users to monitor the GemFire cluster from the Management Console. Allowing users to see multiple analytics and statistics across multiple days can help maintain a healthy cluster.
For information about monitoring clusters in Tanzu GemFire Management Console, see Monitoring Clusters.
For information about configuring monitoring in Tanzu GemFire Management Console, see Configuring Monitoring.
Data Explorer
This release of the Management Console offers two ways for users to interact with the data in the cluster through the Data Explorer. In the Data Explorer, users can either quickly browse a set number of entries or run a custom query on the data in the cluster.
For more information, see Data Explorer.
Download Logs and Statistics
This release includes the ability to view and download log files for locators and servers on connected clusters.
For more information about downloading logs and statistics, see Logs.
Pass-through Authentication
This release provides the option to use Tanzu GemFire Management Console login credentials to also log into GemFire Clusters.

Issues Resolved in v1.1.0
This section describes issue resolutions that significantly affect VMware GemFire Management Console.
- Fixed Cannot Update Cluster Credentials issue in version 1.0.0 with regards to not choosing to save the cluster security and SSL/TLS information.
Known Issues in v1.1.0
Known Issue with External Prometheus
Tanzu GemFire Management Console may become overwhelmed with network calls when Live Refresh is enabled on the Monitoring page due to network latencies with the external Prometheus server. This can result in a lagged response time from the Management Console. Users can refresh the browser to dismiss pending network calls.
Workarounds
Deploy the external Prometheus in the same network as Tanzu GemFire Management Console or in a network with minimal network delay or latency.

Workarounds
You can update cluster security and SSL/TLS information in the following ways:
Option 1
- From the Clusters Dashboard, click the cluster Nickname to open Cluster Details.
- Provide correct SSL/TLS Information and configured cluster security (Username/Password or Authentication Token) to connect and manage the cluster.
Option 2
- Remove the existing cluster.
- Reconnect the cluster and provide the updated credentials and SSL/TLS information.
