Operational Verification of Clustered Workspace ONE Access

Validate the operational state of the clustered Workspace ONE Access in
VMware Cloud Foundation
 by performing the operational verification steps for user authentication, system health and integration with Active Directory.

Verify the Authentication in the Clustered Workspace ONE Access by Using a Local System Account

Verify that the clustered Workspace ONE Access instance is online and accessible by authenticating with the built-in
admin
 account.
Expected Outcome
You can successfully authenticate in the clustered Workspace ONE Access instance by using the
admin
 account.
  1. Log in to the clustered Workspace ONE Access instance at
    https://<clustered_workspace_one_access_fqdn>/admin
     as
    admin
     in
    System Domain
     .
  2. Verify that you see the
    Dashboard
     page.

  • Ensure that the Workspace ONE Access appliance is powered on and you are using the correct credentials.

Verify the System Health of the Clustered Workspace ONE Access

Verify the system health parameters for the clustered Workspace ONE Access instance in the system diagnostics dashboard.
Expected Outcome
The clustered Workspace ONE Access node has the expected values for all health parameters in the system diagnostics dashboard.
  1. Log in to the clustered Workspace ONE Access using the
    admin
     account and
    System Domain
     at
    https://<clustered_workspace_one_access_fqdn>/admin
    .
  2. On the main navigation bar, from the
    Dashboard
     drop-down menu, select
    System diagnostics dashboard
    .
  3. In the left pane, click the Workspace ONE Access instance and verify the dashboard parameters.

Verify the Integration of the Clustered Workspace ONE Access with Active Directory

If you have integrated the clustered Workspace ONE Access instance with Active Directory, verify the communication synchronization status and that all connectors are enabled.
Expected Outcome
The clustered Workspace ONE Access has a
Sync successful
 status for Active Directory and the status of the connectors is
Enabled
.
  1. Log in to the clustered Workspace ONE Access at
    https://<clustered_workspace_one_access_fqdn>/admin
     as
    admin
     in
    System Domain
     .
  2. On the main navigation bar, click the
    Identity & access management
     tab.
  3. Click the
    Directories
     tab and verify that Workspace ONE Access has the
    Sync successful
     status for the associated domain in Active Directory.
  4. Click the
    Identity providers
     tab and verify that the Workspace ONE Access connectors have the
    Enabled
     status.

  • Ensure that the Active Directory is reachable.

Verify the Status of the Workspace ONE Access PostgreSQL Cluster in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager

Verify the health of the PostgreSQL cluster of the clustered Workspace ONE Access instance by using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
Expected Outcome
The PostgreSQL cluster health status of Workspace ONE Access is
vIDM postgres cluster health status is ok
 in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
  1. Log in to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager at
    https://<vrealize_suite_lifecycle_manager_fqdn>
     as
    vcfadmin@local
    .
  2. Trigger a cluster health collection request for Workspace ONE Access.
    1. On the
      My services
       page, click
      Lifecycle operations
      .
    2. On the
      Dashboard
       page, click
      Manage environments
      .
    3. On the
      Environments
       page, in the
      globalenvironment
       card, click
      View Details
      .
    4. In the
      VMware Identity Manager
       section, click the ellipsis icon and select
      Trigger cluster health
      .
    5. On the
      Trigger health collection
       dialog box, click
      Submit
      .
  3. Verify the cluster health status of Workspace ONE Access.
    1. On the right top corner of the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager user interface, click the
      Notifications
       icon.
    2. Verify that the Workspace ONE Access PostgreSQL cluster status is
      OK
      .
